Cha-cha-changes!

Well, it's official-we're moving to the burbs! After 4 wonderful years in Brighton, an opportunity came up for us to rent out in the burbs and we're taking it. We're hoping going to save lots of money in hopes of a future home/babies :) and Brighton is just not cutting it with the money-saving. The lots of fun, lots of walking, lots of shops, bars and restaurants-yes, money saving-no :(

Although we're super sad to see our Brighton days go, we know we're doing the right thing for our family (I guess this means we're growing up or something.....) and if you know me, you know I don't do well with change, but I really am trying my best. I'll be putting on my big girl pants and putting a smile on (or at least trying to) as we embark on the next adventure of our lives :) (See, I'm putting a positive spin on things!)

In the mean time, here's a sneak peak at our new apartment.  Don't mind the mess, it's getting all cleaned, fixed and prettied up for our arrival :) I promise I'll have some after pics in a few days!

Counting down to February Vacation...

T minus 8 hours until February vacation!! No, it's not just the kiddos who are looking forward to this break.  These past few weeks have been stressful-nothing major, just the basic day to day challenges, but they do add up and this just feels like the perfect time to step back, reflect, and relax.

Speaking of relaxing....did I mention my Feb. vacation plans? My Mom and I are off on our 2nd annual girls vacation. Tomorrow we will be cruisin' to the Carribean.

I. seriously. can't. wait.

So, although I've been M.I.A for a while, and will be for another week, I promise lots of pictures and stories about our biddy adventures upon my return :)

Oh, and did I mention we're moving 3 days after I get back...yeah...more on that to come too!

Happy Friday! And for all the teachers-Happy February Vacation-you SO deserve it!!

Countdown to the Move....

Well, it's official...in less than a month, we'll be packing up and trading the city lights for the open fields and strip malls of the suburbs. After visiting our new apartment this past weekend and exploring our new town with my parents, I really am starting to get excited!

My Mom and I were the 'welcome wagon' and went to all the little shops, boutiques and cafes of the "downtown" area. It's very historic, with a mix of old (like revolutionary war old) and more modern. It's adorable-and there were a ton of people out and about. It was really fun to see all the hustle and bustle of a new place.

Let the packing madness begin...

Go Pats!!

As a good 'ol New England girl, I am SO SO SO excited for the Patriots v. Raven AFC championship game today!! We haven't won one in a few years, but I've got faith in this years team. We've got Brady, Welker, Branch, Woodhouse, Hernandez and of course the Gronk!

I love this time of year where we have an excuse to meet up with friends every Sunday afternoon/night and hang out watching the game-its nice to have something to look forward to after a dreary winter week. But when the playoffs come around, it's a whole 'nother story, people get amped up around here :)

Today will include baking and cooking in preparation for the game. Then we'll head to a friends house, decked out in our Pats gear, buffalo chicken dip and some bevs in tow and get ready to cheer on our Pats!

Happy game day to you!

Ski Days

Nick and I took up skiing(me)/snowboarding(him) about 3 years ago, and we absolutely love it! It's such a fun activity and really gives us something to look forward to during the sometimes dreary winter months.  This year we've gone to Okemo in Vermont with Nick's brother and cousins, and Gunstock in New Hampshire with friends.

Tonight's Dinner 1-16

Today I had the rare opportunity to be home on a Monday. It's MLK day and I had the day off. I was a little productive, but mostly lazy, recovering from our ski trip yesterday.

It was a chilly day, and I was inspired to use my long-neglected crock-pot. I decided to make beef stew, and found this awesome recipe from my new favorite ipad app-epicurious via gourmet magazine, December 2008 Beef Stew with Potatoes and Carrots.

Nick and I got a little hungry while waiting the 6-8 hours of slow cooking goodness, so I decided to make an app.  While looking around on pinterest, I came across two different sites that make cheesy garlic bread sticks-one was a more semi-homemade version with store bought dough, so I went with that one Lindsay's cheesy garlic bread sticks, but you can also find the original here Lauren's cheesy garlic bread sticks, which I'm sure is equally amazing.

These sticks were cheesy, garlicky, and super easy! I can't believe I've shelled out 8.99 for the delivery version before-never again! These sticks are soo yummy-and were devoured in minutes...

It was delish and just what this chilly day called for :)
