My 100th Post!!!

I can't believe this little ol' blog has gotten to 100 posts! I started this over a year ago as a way to keep friends and family in the loop. Along the way, I've met some great people and incredible bloggers who have inspired me to keep writing. No matter how silly or mundane I think something in my life is, it's a part of my life. It's a memory and I've documented it.

It's fun to look back at past posts and see where I was in my life at that point. I'm glad that years down the road, I'll have something to look back at and show my kids.
I'm glad that blogging is something I enjoy doing and something I find fun.
I know I can only improve and I look forward to what's to come...

For now, I'll leave you with some pictures of my two favorites in the world :) :)

Thanks for reading!!

Thankful Thursday #4

This week, I'm thankful for....

1.) The right to VOTE!

2.) Getting this magazine:

3.)  A new blanket to snuggle up with

4.) Our annual VT trip for Thanksgiving, only a few weeks away

5.) Finding the perfect "bathroom baskets" for my cousins upcoming wedding! Can't wait to fill these with all sorts of goodies for the Men's Women's rooms :)

6.) A husband who has dinner ready when I get home, when it's just been one of those days

7.) Finding a new route home that's shaved about 15 minutes off my commute

8.) Breakfast for dinner

9.) That the fireplace is on, pretty much every night now :)

10.) Love and appreciation from my students!

Wordless Wednesday

Sometimes, during football season, the Patriots have a 'buy' week, and I get to spend all day Sunday, glorious Sunday with my husband.

I love those rare days :)

Election Day

Today I feel proud to be an American. As cheesy as that sounds, I do. I feel proud that my voice and my opinion counts. With all the unstable political climates out there in the world today, to live in a place where every 4 years, we have the power to effect change feels especially powerful.

I think back to only 50 short years ago, when not all people in this country could vote. I think back to the men and women that have come before me that worked to change policies so that all Americans, regardless of gender or ethnicity could vote, and I feel very fortunate.

Today feels very important. Today feels exciting. Today feels hopeful.

What We Ate

This past week, I had two great ideas, and no dinner plans.  I had an amazing appetizer in mind, and a delish salad I wanted to try! These two things ended up being a complete dinner in of themselves and were super yummy!

Gorgonzola Garlic Bread

-4tbsp butter (room temp)
-crumbled gorgonzola (room temp)
-parmesan cheese
-parsley

-cut french bread in half lengthwise
-cream butter & gorgonzola together
-spread on bread
-sprinkle parmesan cheese on top
-bake at 425 for 10 mins
-enjoy :)

Candied Walnut & Cranberry Salad

Recipe:
-mixed greens
-feta cheese
-candied walnuts
-dried cranberries
-maple balsamic dressing (Stonewall Kitchen)

-mix ingredients together & enjoy!

Thankful Thursday #3

So many things to be thankful for this week....

First and foremost, I am so thankful for the safety of my immediate and extended family in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. It was a rough storm, especially for my family down in NY and NJ, but it really makes you realize what's important in life-the people, not the things!

I'm also thankful that I'm writing this in November! Yes, guys, today is November 1st! You know what that means....my most favorite time of the year ever...the holidays!! Thanksgiving and Christmas! November and December are the best months, I just love this time of year.

This November we have something extra special to look forward to, my cousin Jackie's wedding!

Lots of exciting things to come, I can't wait! Hopefully these 2 months won't speed by like they always do, and I can soak up all the special time with loved ones :)

So, all in all, I'm feeling very thankful this Thursday!
