Summer Traditions-Vineyard 2013

There's just something about them....I love the idea of returning to the same places with the same people each year. Our summer tradition of going to the Vineyard is one of our oldest, we've been going since I was a little girl. It truly feels like a 2nd home. It's the perfect place to soak up the sun, eat some fresh seafood, catch up with family and friends, and let loose. I love this tradition...

It was pretty cloudy at the start of the week, so we did lots of shopping, eating and reading...

Then, fortunately, the sun came out and we had some great beach days!

Love the Vineyard-it's my happy place, and one of my favorite places in the world :)

Summer Vacation Part 1

Part 1 of our summer vacation brought us to Martha's Vineyard to hang with my side of the family, including some great lifelong friends (who we also consider family). We ate amazing food, beached a ton, and enjoyed some of the local sights-it was vacation perfection :)

Love the Vineyard!

Post Vacation Blues

Is it just me or does coming back from vacation give people the blues? We had such an amazing time on the Cape and Vineyard and (I feel like I say this every year, but...) this year was the best yet! It was great to see everyone and even though we haven't seen some of our friends for months, it was as if no time had passed at all. Those types of friends are blessings.

So I'll be over here, easing myself back into reality, grocery shopping, doing loads and loads of laundry and trying to work off those extra pounds I brought back with me...

Here are some pics through my iphone-actual pictures to come when I get around
to downloading them all :)

Packing for MV!

Our annual family vacation to Martha's Vineyard is coming up and I can't wait! I still find myself getting as giddy and excited as I did our first trip, back when I was 11 years old!

It's such a special and magical place for me. Countless family memories have been made.
l spent those first summers with cousins and friends riding our bikes to South Beach and walking into town to get Mad Martha's. I then spent my early teen years pining after tanned Oak Bluffs boys, and in recent years shopping in Edgartown and enjoying some of the local nightlife. I look forward to the years when I introduce my own children to this special place, walking my babies on the beach as we watch the Menemsha sunset, buying them cute little MV shirts in Vineyard Haven,
and most importantly continuing this precious family tradition.

So laundry and packing awaits me as I get ready to travel to the place that will
forever be my summer home- Martha's Vineyard.

Martha's Vineyard Part 3

The conclusion  of our fabulous Vineyard vacation starts off with breakfast at the Art Cliff diner-hands down the best breakfast I've ever eaten...Then we take advantage of the beautiful weather and stroll through downtown Edgartown for some shopping and snacking, then it was just too gorgeous to not be at the beach, so we went down to the Oak Bluffs beach and we ended our day with dinner at the Black Dog in Vineyard Haven before heading off on the ferry back to reality....

I am so glad that I have such amazing parents who brought us all together.  I'm lucky that my in-laws are so great, and that we all get along. And I'm so happy that after growing up an only child, I now have two awesome brothers that I love!

All in all, I'm a pretty lucky girl :)
